With summer right around the corner, Cradles to Crayons is already working to ensure the local children they serve have the essentials they need to be ready for school from head to toe. This year, they are celebrating the 10th Anniversary of their Ready for School Program which aims to serve more than 68,000 disadvantaged students across the Commonwealth. This year also marks the fifth year of their partnership with Jordan’s Furniture whose collection efforts have allowed them to prepare thousands of children for a successful school year.
In celebration of these milestones, they are teaming up with Jordan’s Furniture’s Reading store (50 Walkers Brook Drive) to host a fun, family friendly Stuff-a-Truck event on Saturday, June 18th from 10am to 2pm. They encourage you and your family to clean out your closets and join them on this special day as they stuff their Cradles to Crayons truck with new or gently used clothing, shoes, books and other essentials your children no longer need. Your donations will help to fill the achievement gap by providing in need children throughout Massachusetts with age-appropriate school supplies and customized packages of clothing. Spread the word and come help them kick off the summer by giving back!
Most needed items include boys & girls clothing (up to adult M), boys & girls shoes (up to adult 10), diapers & wipes, and new hygiene items for infants. For more information on items that are accepted, please visit https://www.cradlestocrayons.org/boston/donate-goods/items-we-accept/.
